Peace of Mind.
Peace is a stress free state of security and calmness that comes when there's no fighting or war, everything coexisting in perfect harmony and freedom. The United Nations describes peace as dignity and well-being for all, not just absence of war. Peace in the Bible has a wide meaning including the totality or completeness, success, fulfillment, wholeness, harmony, security and well-being of a Christian or church as a whole. True peace includes personal wholeness, righteousness, political justice, and prosperity for all creation.
Inner peace (or peace of mind) refers to a deliberate state of psychological or spiritual calm despite the potential presence of stressors.
Peace of mind is something that we all need. We want to be able to enjoy ourselves and not be burdened. Lack of peace leads to depression. We can work on inner peace and world peace at the same time. On one hand, people have found inner peace by losing themselves in a cause larger than themselves, like the cause of world peace, because finding inner peace means coming from the self-centered life into the life centered in the good of the whole.
On the other hand, one of the ways of working for world peace is to work for more inner peace, because world peace will never be stable until enough of us find inner peace to stabilize it.
“It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it.” —Eleanor Roosevelt.
The life of inner peace, being harmonious and without stress, is the easiest type of existence so never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset because if you cannot find peace within yourself, you will never find it anywhere else.
